Additionally, the establishment of a National Youth Development Bank is expected to ensure access to the necessary capital for turning innovative ideas into successful businesses.

“We are investing in our youth because they are the future of this nation,” Tinubu affirmed. “NiYA represents a real opportunity to change the narrative of youth unemployment and learning poverty in our country.”

The Minister for Youth Development Ayodele Olawande, also spoke at the launch, encouraging young Nigerians to make the most of the opportunities offered by the academy. He pointed out that NiYA aims to bridge the skills gap in Nigeria’s job market, helping youths acquire skills, start businesses, and improve their lives and the lives of their families.

“This platform is designed for the youth to acquire skills, create businesses, and build a better future for themselves,” Olawande added.

The NiYA program includes training in education and skills development, economic empowerment, and leadership, offering youth the pathways to engage with the global economy. As part of the launch event, N1 million start-up packages were presented to six beneficiaries from each of Nigeria’s geopolitical zones, further supporting young entrepreneurs in their journey toward success.
