President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially signed a bill establishing the Federal University of Environmental Technology in Ogoni, Rivers State.
This was announced on Monday in a statement by Bwala Daniel, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication.
“I am pleased to inform Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assented to the bill establishing the Federal University of Environmental Technology, Ogoni, in Rivers State,” Daniel said.
He emphasized that the move aligns with the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope agenda, which prioritizes correcting past inequalities and building inclusive institutions for balanced national development.
Daniel further highlighted that this development follows the recent approval of a federal university in the Southern Kaduna district of Kaduna State.
“To President Tinubu, there are no minority ethnicities in Nigeria,” he said. “He believes in the opening stanza of our national anthem, which states that though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood, we stand.”
The announcement was met with congratulations for the people of Ogoni, with Daniel noting that the establishment of the university is part of the President’s efforts to fulfill his mandate for national development and unity.
