Tinubu to address Nigerians Sunday amid #EndBadGovernance protest

President Bola Tinubu will on Sunday, August 4, 2024 address the nation via a televised broadcast, the presidency has said.

The broadcast will air at 7:00 am on that day, a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, said.

The presidential broadcast coincides with the #EndBadGovernance protests, which began in various regions of the country on Thursday.

The 10-day demonstration is a protest against the economic hardship in the country.

In the northern part of the country, the protest has been marred by violence, looting and destruction of public and private properties.

In the south, the protest has been largely peaceful.

On Saturday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) asked Tinubu to immediately address Nigerians amid the ongoing nationwide protest.

The PDP said the president’s silence has worsened the agitations

“It is indeed worrisome that President Tinubu could remain silent as Nigerians are on the streets demanding for good governance, protection, security and welfare, which are the primary purpose of government,” the PDP said.
