Tractor Float Overturns at May Day Parade in Germany, Injuring Dozens

A May Day parade in southwest Germany turned tragic when a float, pulled by a tractor, overturned, leaving around thirty people injured, with ten of them sustaining serious injuries, according to local police reports.

The accident occurred as the tractor towing the float made a turn, causing the float to topple over, authorities stated in a press release.

Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, and some of the injured were airlifted for urgent medical treatment. Helicopters from neighboring Switzerland were also deployed to assist in transporting the injured.

The incident unfolded around 1:05 pm local time on a road near the town of Kandern, situated close to the French border between the German city of Freibourg im Breisgau and Basel in Switzerland.

As investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the accident, authorities are providing support to the injured and their families while urging caution and adherence to safety protocols during public events.
