Trump Cracks Down on Ticket Scalping with Explosive Executive Order – Kid Rock Joins the Fight

With American entertainer Kid Rock by his side, President Donald Trump took a bold stand against ticket scalping and predatory live event pricing on Monday, signing a sweeping executive order to protect fans from skyrocketing costs.
Slamming “unscrupulous middlemen” who exploit music lovers and sports fans, Trump’s directive orders the U.S. Attorney General and the Treasury Secretary to use “every legal means necessary” to eliminate price gouging in the ticketing industry.
The order also mandates the Federal Trade Commission to enforce full price transparency at every stage of the ticket-buying process, including the controversial resale market.
“You go to buy a ticket for $100, but by the time you check out, it’s $170,” said Kid Rock, clad in a striking American-flag-themed red suit and straw fedora. “Scalpers and bots are jacking up prices by 400-500 percent—it’s robbery.”
Kid Rock, a vocal Trump supporter who campaigned alongside him in 2024, has long criticized shady ticketing practices. Now, under Trump’s new order, the days of unchecked resale markups may be numbered.
The move follows a legal crackdown on ticketing giant Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation by the previous Biden administration, which accused them of monopolistic control over the live event industry.
Live Nation, which has denied the allegations, welcomed Trump’s executive order Monday, calling for strong enforcement.
With the president turning up the heat on the industry, the message is clear: the era of ticketing exploitation is coming to an end.
