Two dead, two injured in Kano collapsed building

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has reported that two people have died and two others are injured following the collapse of a two-storey building in Noman’s Land, Fagge Local Government Area of Kano.

The NEMA Coordinator for the Kano Territorial Office Nuraddeen Abdullahi confirmed the incident to news outlets. He stated that the agency received an emergency call around 2:00 a.m. from a good Samaritan alerting them to the building collapse.

Upon receiving the report, NEMA promptly dispatched a rescue team to the scene. The team successfully rescued four individuals, consisting of a husband, wife, and their two children. Tragically, both children were confirmed dead, while the couple was transported to the Armed Forces Specialist Hospital in Kano for medical treatment.

Abdullahi added that search and rescue operations are ongoing to locate any additional individuals who may be trapped in the debris. The rescue efforts are supported by the Kano State Fire Service, Police, Red Cross, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and other organizations.
