Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria, Will Stevens has named his favourite Nigerian musician.
In a recent interview, the Consul General was asked to pick his favourite Afrobeats artiste in which he mentioned Tems.
He praised Tems’ unique voice, admitting that he “got a little bit of a crunch ” listening to her.
In his words;
“My favourite Afrobeats artist? It got to be Tems. That voice… I got a little bit of a crunch just listening to her. And on the Black Panther, when she sings ‘No Woman, No Cry’ by Bob Marley. She is incredible.”
Stevens said aside from Tems, he also listens to other Afrobeats artists such as Asake, Fireboy, Davido and more.
“I have met a bunch of Nigerian artists; Fireboy, Asake, Davido. I haven’t met Burna Boy but they are great guys. Wonderful people. I know Nigerian artistes and I jam to them a little bit. But Tems is the one that I can just tune in anytime,” he added.
