UK introduces new visa for senior and specialist workers in multinational companies

The UK government has launched a new visa option for senior managers and specialists within multinational companies who wish to work in the UK.

The Senior or Specialist Worker visa, part of the Global Business Mobility (GBM) route, allows skilled workers to transfer to the UK and bring their expertise to a branch of their employer in the country.

This new visa replaces the previous Intra-company Transfer (ICT) visa, streamlining the process for skilled workers relocating to the UK. According to GOV.UK, the Senior or Specialist Worker visa allows eligible individuals to live and work in the UK for a set period, provided they meet specific criteria.

The visa is designed for senior managers, specialists, and other skilled employees of multinational companies. Workers already in the UK on an Intra-company Transfer or Tier 2 (ICT) visa can switch to the new Senior or Specialist Worker visa without needing to leave the country.
