Ukrainian Drones Hit Russian Oil Depot and Aviation Plant Amid Ongoing Cross-Border Attacks

The Ukrainian army has launched a wave of drone strikes on Russian territory, targeting key military infrastructure, including an oil depot and an aviation plant. The attacks, carried out in the western Voronezh region, have led to significant damage, including a fire at an oil depot and explosions at a facility producing military aircraft.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Ukraine’s military confirmed that the oil depot near the town of Liski was hit for the second time in less than a week. The depot, which stores fuel and lubricants used by Russian troops, was reportedly set ablaze. “Tanks with fuel and lubricants used by the occupiers to supply Russian troops caught fire,” the Ukrainian army said.
Additionally, Ukraine claimed to have struck an aviation plant in the western Russian city of Smolensk, which produces combat aircraft, causing explosions. However, local officials in Smolensk disputed the extent of the damage, with the region’s governor stating that only roof fires had been caused by falling debris from downed drones.
In response, Russia’s defense ministry reported intercepting and downing 55 Ukrainian drones overnight, with more than half of the drones shot down over regions bordering Ukraine. Meanwhile, Ukraine accused Russia of launching a retaliatory attack, firing 131 drones, decoys, and four missiles into Ukrainian territory.
The escalating drone attacks highlight the intensifying nature of the conflict between the two nations, with both sides engaging in continuous cross-border strikes targeting military assets and infrastructure.
