Victor Osimhen inches away from breaking Cristiano Ronaldo’s record

Osimhen recently recovered from an injury that kept him out of Nigeria’s encounter against Libya and Galatasaray’s most recent game.

The attacker was substituted in the closing seconds of Galatasaray’s Antalyaspor triumph at Antalya Stadium.

After then, Osimhen struck a spectacular overhead kick to complete the 3-0 victory, which has everyone buzzing.

According to NTV, Osimhen’s Super Lig overhead kick goal against Antalyaspor is remembered as one of just two in the history of football to surpass the 2.30-meter height restriction.

Real Madrid great Ronaldo holds the record after he scored with an overhead kick from 2.38 meters in the Champions League quarterfinal between Real Madrid and Juventus in April 2018.

Ronaldo’s overhead kick was 0.06 meters higher than Osimhen’s, which 2.32 meters high was.

During the game, Hakim Ziyech floated a free-kick into the area, and Osimhen overpowered his man before delivering a strong overhead kick to put the ball into the net.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles striker has also tipped his overhead kick goal to win the FIFA Puskas award.
