Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Nigeria from Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, where he attended the inaugural International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources (Salon International des Ressources Extractives et Énergétiques – @SIREXE_Expo). Although no official statement was issued regarding his return, newsmen learned that Shettima arrived in Nigeria on Wednesday via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
During his time in Côte d’Ivoire, Vice President Shettima emphasized the need for stronger governance, increased transparency, and greater collaboration among leaders and industry stakeholders to unlock Africa’s resource potential for sustainable development.
He also reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to building an inclusive extractive industry based on transparency, regional cooperation, and the development of local capacity.
The summit, which was centered on the theme “Policies and Strategies for the Sustainable Development of the Extractive and Energy Industries,” brought together leaders from across Africa to explore innovative solutions for resource management and energy security.
