WCQ: Chelle Excludes Musa and Iheanacho, Names Final 23 for Rwanda and Zimbabwe Matches

Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, has named his final 23-man squad for the crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, with notable absentees, including skipper Ahmed Musa and forward Kelechi Iheanacho.

Musa, who had been a surprise inclusion in Chelle’s initial 39-player provisional squad after nearly a year of absence from the team, was among those cut from the final roster. Iheanacho, currently with Middlesbrough, also missed out on the final selection.

The Malian coach, who will be leading the Super Eagles for the first time in these upcoming qualifiers, made the decision to leave out both players as he prepares for the critical fixtures next week.
