Wizkid’s Hit Single ‘Ojuelegba’ Clocks 10 Years

Wizkid’s iconic afrobeat single, *Ojuelegba*, has officially marked a decade since its release. The Grammy award-winning artist, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, first dropped the track in September 2014, as part of his sophomore album, *Ayo*. Since then, *Ojuelegba* has topped charts, won numerous awards, and remains a standout track in Wizkid’s illustrious career.

The song, a fusion of Yoruba and English, tells the story of Wizkid’s early struggles as an aspiring artist in Ojuelegba, a bustling neighborhood in Lagos. Produced by Legendary Beatz, *Ojuelegba* resonated deeply with fans and quickly became an anthem for perseverance and ambition. The track garnered international attention in 2015 when it was remixed by global stars Drake and Skepta.

With over 65 million views on YouTube, *Ojuelegba* continues to be a symbol of Wizkid’s rise to fame. To commemorate this 10-year milestone, Spotify released a short video encouraging Nigerians to chase their dreams, much like Wizkid did.

The success of *Ojuelegba* paved the way for Wizkid’s continued dominance in the music industry. As fans eagerly await his upcoming album, *Morayo*, featuring Brent Faiyaz, it’s clear that Wizkid’s journey, from Ojuelegba to the global stage, is far from over.
