Yobe Govt Further Relaxes Curfew In Potiskum, Gashua, Nguru
In response to the violent nationwide protests, Yobe State Governor Mai Buni has further loosened the curfew in the cities of Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru following a security council meeting with leaders of security agencies.
In a press release by the Director General on Press and Media Affairs Mamman Mohammed, the curfew will be in force from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m from Wednesday.
The sudden arrival of criminals and thugs who had hidden behind the nationwide protest to destroy and pillage public and private property in the impacted local government councils was noted with dismay at the meeting.
Therefore, it issued a warning to parents and guardians to keep a close eye on their charges and to prevent them from being exploited as tools of theft and destruction.
Governor Buni praised the security agencies for their cool-headed and competent handling of the crisis.
