he Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Maritime Police Command, Lagos, AIG Olofu Rhoda, has urged strategic leaders and field officers of the command to ensure robust security measures are in place to protect the nation’s ports, harbours, waterways, and coastal communities during and after the yuletide season.
This was contained in a press release made available to newsmen on Sunday by the Maritime Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ehinmode Rowland.
Rowland said the AIG mentioned this in her yuletide and end-of-the year operational order to the commands and formations under her watch.
“She advised officers to demonstrate high level professionalism and tact in the discharge of their duties while ensuring there is no security breach in their area of responsibilities,” the statement read.
The AIG appreciated the personnel of the command for their dedication, commitment, unwavering loyalty and resilience in the face of daunting and intimidating security challenges in the outgoing year.
She also commended the coordinated activities of other ancillary Maritime Commands and Formations in the provision of security, enforcement of law and orders, and operational guide against crimes and criminalities.
Olofu encouraged the officers to play by the rules, up their services and dedication to the nation and the Force, be proactive and professional, and to shun corruption in all its forms and shapes.
