Yusuf Maitama Tuggar to Represent President Tinubu at 2024 US-Africa Business Summit

The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has been appointed to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the prestigious 2024 US-Africa Business Summit in Dallas, Texas.

Originally slated to attend the summit, Vice President Kashim Shettima encountered unforeseen circumstances when a technical fault was detected in his aircraft, compelling him to divert his travel plans on the advice of the Presidential Air Fleet.

Despite this setback, Vice President Shettima will continue fulfilling his national duties.

The US-Africa Business Summit, set to take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, is anticipated to draw a distinguished gathering of political and business leaders from various African nations, the United States, and beyond.

The summit will feature high-level dialogues, networking sessions, and plenaries aimed at promoting economic cooperation and exploring investment opportunities between the United States and African countries.

Among the esteemed African heads of state expected to grace the event are President Joseph Boakai of Liberia, President Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi, President Joao Lourenço of Angola, President Mokgweetsi E.K. Masisi of Botswana, President José Maria Neves of Cabo Verde, and Deputy Prime Minister Nthomeng Majara of Lesotho.
